Holds final editorial accountability, safeguards independence and authorises acceptance, publication, correction and retraction decisions.

Managing Editor

Controls intake, completeness checks, timelines, correspondence and the integrity of the editorial record.

Section Editor

Assesses scope, selects qualified reviewers and manages discipline-specific evaluation without overriding conflicts controls.

Independent Reviewer

Evaluates assigned blinded records, declares conflicts and submits a reasoned recommendation without publication authority.

Copy Editor

Improves language and consistency after acceptance without changing scientific meaning or the documented decision.

Production Editor

Prepares the publishable record, validates metadata and protects the immutable Version of Record.
